Wet Electrostatic Precipitator WESP

A Wet Electrostatic Precipitator WESP can be understood as a process that first collects dust (typically moist particles) through electrostatic precipitation and then removes it using a wet method. The principle involves applying a high-voltage direct current between the anode plates and cathode wires. Under the influence of a strong electric field, the gas between the anode and cathode becomes ionized, generating a large number of electrons and ions. As these move toward the electrodes under the force of the electric field, they collide with dust and smoke particles in the flue gas and become charged. Driven by the electric field, the charged particles separate from the gas stream and move toward the anode plates and cathode wires. Upon reaching the plates and wires, the charged dust particles are adsorbed onto them due to electrostatic forces. Finally, a water film or mist formed on the plates and wires by the washing system washes the dust and smoke particles into the condensate collection tank, thereby purifying the flue gas.
