Activated Carbon Adsorption and Catalytic Combustion Equipment for Coating Exhaust Air at a Ningbo-based Automotive Parts Company
Release Date:
Jun 08,2026
Client Name: A Ningbo-based automotive parts company (publicly listed)
Product & Application: Activated carbon adsorption and catalytic combustion equipment for exhaust air treatment across multiple automotive parts painting lines
Project Timeline: June 2020 – September 2020 (90 days)
Client Background & Requirements:
The client is a long-established, publicly listed company in the automotive parts industry and ranks among the global top 500 automotive parts suppliers. It is a multinational group specializing in the design, development, production, sales, and after-sales service of components for mid-to-high-end passenger vehicles. Headquartered in China, the company operates branches in North America, Europe, and South Asia, with a global network comprising over 60 production bases and three regional R&D centers, employing more than 15,000 people.
The company supplies products—such as interior and exterior trim, metal body components, and automotive electronics—and related services to numerous renowned international automotive brands. Key clients include Volkswagen, BMW, Ford, GM, Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Volvo, SAIC Motor, FAW Car, and Dongfeng Nissan.
The client operates six painting lines utilizing various processes. Two lines were equipped with outdated environmental protection systems that were performing poorly and had deteriorated due to aging and corrosion, necessitating immediate replacement. Another line was newly installed and required the immediate addition of environmental protection equipment to meet increasingly stringent regulations and achieve industry-leading standards.
The project involved dismantling the old equipment and installing three new systems in sequence. Based on an analysis of paint composition, an "activated carbon adsorption/desorption + catalytic combustion (CO)" process was selected. Requirements specified the use of stainless steel for all equipment and ductwork, the implementation of effective exhaust collection schemes for both existing and new painting lines, and the use of automatic variable-frequency operation to ensure energy efficiency and environmental compliance. The total air handling capacity for the three painting exhaust treatment systems is 300,000 m³/h.

Service Process & Why Choose Us:
• Through sustained and effective follow-up, we continuously identified and clarified the client's needs, subsequently adjusting our approach to provide a tailored, detailed technical solution.
• The client recognized the timeliness of our follow-up and the professionalism of our proposal, leading to the establishment of a partnership.
• The system features a well-designed upstream swirl-plate tower and a bottom-mounted dry filtration bed; this configuration effectively removes paint mist, ensuring the long-term, high-efficiency operation of the downstream activated carbon adsorption bed.
• The desorption process utilizes an electric-heating catalytic combustion bed, offering rapid heating, stable operation, and thorough, effective desorption.
• Safety measures include an over-temperature alarm, a nitrogen generator, a nitrogen-based fire suppression system, and a fire sprinkler pipeline; these multiple safeguards ensure the safe operation of the equipment.
Customer Feedback:
• The system operates stably and efficiently, ensuring safety and reliability.
• The dry filtration bed is positioned at the bottom, making the replacement of consumables convenient and quick.
• Comprehensive training materials are provided, covering operating guidelines, troubleshooting for common issues, equipment maintenance, repairs, and spare parts management.
• The equipment features an attractive, high-quality design and is built for durability.
• Treatment performance is excellent, resulting in low exhaust emission concentrations that meet relevant environmental standards.
